Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible

The data controller for Pocket Engineer is Ahmet Şahin, an individual developer trading as Pocket Engineer Labs, İstanbul, Türkiye. Contact: pocketengineerlabs@gmail.com

Our approach is simple: we keep only what the app needs to work, restore your data and let a team work together, and we delete it on a fixed schedule. We are nobody's archive.

2. What we collect

Account

What you create

Purchases and credits

Device and app

What we do not collect

3. Why we use it

4. How engineering analysis works

When you start an analysis, the photos and text you attached, and numbers measured from any sound or vibration sample (never the recording itself), are sent through our servers to Google's cloud processing service, which returns the result. Your content is used only to produce your result and is not used to train models. To avoid charging you twice for the same request, a result is cached on our server for about an hour and deleted within a day.

5. Who processes data for us

We use these service providers. They process data only to provide their service to us.

Some of these providers process data outside Türkiye and the EU. Such transfers are made with the safeguards required by law, such as standard contractual clauses.

Google user data. From your Google account we use only your name, email address, profile photo link and user ID for sign-in, and — only if you allow it — the hidden Drive app folder for your encrypted backup copy, where the app can reach only the files it created. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising or share it beyond the providers above. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Within a team, the records you create in the team workspace are visible to its members according to their roles. We do not sell your data, and we share it with nobody else unless the law requires it.

6. Crash reports and analytics

Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) and usage analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) help us find and fix problems. They do not contain your name or email. They are off until you allow them: the app asks you once, and you can change your answer at any time in Settings → Share diagnostics and usage data. The app works the same either way.

7. Security

8. How long we keep data

Data is deleted automatically on these schedules. If you need records for longer, export them from the app.

9. Your rights

Under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK, Article 11) and, where it applies, the EU GDPR, you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive a copy. You can withdraw consent for analytics at any time in Settings, and export your history from the app.

Write to pocketengineerlabs@gmail.com. We answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the Personal Data Protection Authority of Türkiye (KVKK) or to the data protection authority where you live.

10. Deleting your account

Delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. What is deleted and what is briefly kept is described on the Account deletion page.

11. Children

The app is a professional tool for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will delete the data.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. We will publish the new version here with its date and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
